How Long Do GenVisc Knee Injections Last?

Have you tried corticosteroid injections, physical therapy, pain medication, and you’re still suffering from knee pain? It’s time you find true chronic pain relief. We offer GenVisc knee injections, a breakthrough therapy for osteoarthritis of the knee joint. This treatment has been proven successful and is covered by Medicare and all major insurers.

For best results, the recommended treatment is a series of injections delivered over three to five weeks. Many patients see immediate relief after the first injection while most experience the greatest pain relief and mobility improvement within 6 weeks of the final injection. Chronic pain relief can last up to six months or more and additional injections can extend the benefits.

How Effective Are GenVisc Injections?

Considered an effective alternative to corticosteroid injections, GenVisc knee injections are performed when no other therapies have been effective in reducing osteoarthritis knee pain. On average, patients experience noticeable relief within 8-12 weeks of a series of injections. The pain relief has been shown to last up to six months or more.

What is Viscosupplementation?

Viscosupplementation is a minimally invasive therapy that reduces the pain and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis of the knee. Delivered as an injection directly into the knee joint, the therapy has minimal side effects and little downtime. The solution in the GenVisc knee injections is sodium hyaluronate, the same liquid that is naturally present in the knee joint. The purpose of this liquid is to lubricate and cushion the knee joint during movement. Osteoarthritis causes a reduction in this fluid, leading to pain and stiffness. By stabilizing the levels of sodium hyaluronate in the knee joint, GenVisc knee injections reduce pain and increase range of motion. This allows patients to regain their mobility and get back to their regular lifestyle.

How often will Medicare pay for knee injections?

Medicare will typically cover knee injections once every six months if they are medically necessary. The injections are covered under Medicare Part B and subject to the annual Part B deductible. X-rays are required prior to Medicare approval. As mentioned above, there are many different injection treatments for the knees.
